Their answer seems to be to reign in the picketers and invite people to come and see just how quiet and peaceful things are now.
The picketers didn't even show up until 11 on Saturday, leaving at 4. Today, they quietly showed up and quietly left. Now, AUPE is trying to pretend that this is normal!
So this is all hype, is it?
Sorry, AUPE, but you can't suddenly tell the picketers to behave, and everything that's been done for the last 3 months will suddenly disappear as if it never happened.
You are still picketing our private homes.
Not the employer's place of business.
Not a work site.
Claiming all of Artspace as a work site is like a housekeeping company or a pizza delivery company laying claim to their customer's homes as their work sites.
These remain our private homes. Only 1 unit is the place of business. Nothing else.
Not the front of the high rise.
Not the townhouses.
Not the driveways to parking areas.
Not the cul de sac on 94th, where a care worker who was NOT there as a replacement worker was blocked - on the street - for 1 1/2 hours, subjected to constant verbal abuse, degradation and harassment.
What's done is done. Changing tactics does not make AUPE and the picketers any less guilty of misconduct.
