100 Days Under Siege: is this vandalism?

AUPE claims that their rental van, which had been sitting on our street since before the strike began, has been vandalized.

Problem is, we have yet to find anyone who has seen this vandalism.  We noticed the flat tire before the van got taken away and replaced with another one (I wonder what Ryder thought of its condition when they got it back), and people had seen it needing a boost before it could be moved a few inches to avoid a ticket for abandonment.

One member did, however, take photos of some things on the van.

The picketers duct taped a sign to it a while back.  This damage from the tape was on both sides of the mirror.

Though they would move it once in a while, most of the time it just sat there.  Someone finally convinced by-law to check it out, and this warning ticket was left.

The tires were marked, too, which was when this was noticed.

They had been using three of their tires as ash trays.

Now, you could try to argue that it's better than putting the butts on the street, except that it doesn't look like they took them off before moving the fan to avoid a ticket or two.

In Edmonton, it's a $250 fine for tossing cigarette butts.

They avoided getting towed, but this is what was left on their window.

Perhaps AUPE should look to their own before accusing Artspace members of vandalizing their van.
