Good Cop/Bad Cop

This is a term often used by law officials or terrorists to get a desired result and AUPE is all too familiar with this, starting with "Bad Cop" before he was removed; the horrendous abuse one of the picket captains, Dave Malka, unleashed - air raid sirens, intimidation, bull horns, foul language stalking - hoping this tactic would work and then everyone would cave.

Obviously it did not; it just shamed AUPE as a stronghold with only a mission of torment.

Then they brought back Desiree Schell, who played "Good Cop", to try another angle, "befriending" members, acting civilized, approaching members if they had any concerns to come directly to her.  It seemed she was approachable and perhaps the siege would calm down - but who orchestrated unscheduled evening music parties? choreographed where picketers were to stand to block replacement workers, members and guests? set up the Canada Day Invasion? the rallies outside our home? most likely told the picketers who to terrorize, who to suck up to, when and how?

Are they not both employed by AUPE and want the same result? A verdict not a solution?

A Term often used in psychological cases is "Stockholm Syndrome".  Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes "strong emotional ties that develop between  persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other."[4] One commonly used hypothesis to explain the effect of Stockholm syndrome is based on Freudian theory. It suggests that the bonding is the individual's response to trauma in becoming a victim. Identifying with the aggressor is one way that the ego defends itself. When a victim believes the same values as the aggressor, they cease to be perceived as a threat.

It is no different when the international Nobel Winning group "Doctors Without Borders" has to reason with terrorists to bring needed medical aid to war torn countries in medical emergencies.  The ones who are making the demands hold the cards; it comes down to power and money.  These people often use the word "SHAME" to the dynamic workers coming to attend the people at ARTSPACE that need service; is that something to be ashamed of? helping people?

I think the tormentors that inflict verbal abuse, disturb the lives of everyone, including the disadvantaged and children, should look at themselves before uttering "SHAME".
